Pohanka's Pay it Forward program was founded in the midst of the recession in 2009. The recession hit the automotive community hard, especially on Delmarva where over 30% of new car franchises actually went out of business between 2007 and 2009. All the while non-profits needed our support more than ever. Advertising budgets dried up and non-profits were the first to be cut by most businesses. Instead of cutting charitable giving, we did just the opposite and started Pohanka Pays it Forward. Since its foundation in 2009, Pohanka of Salisbury has donated over $2,000,000.00 to 750 charitable organizations and counting.
